Mullins, Orbra Bunchie

Major, Retired Orbra G. Mullins, 95, of Orlando, Florida, died August 7, 2017, at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born July 21, 1922, in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of late Joseph and Goldie Summerfield Mullins. He had six siblings; Jessie Hildebrand, Othar Mullins, Beatrice Mullins, Orville Mullins, Janie Mullins Hagerman, and Bernice Mullins Thompson- all deceased. He was preceded in death by his wives Clara Barker Mullins, Joann Bobersky Mullins and Betty Barker Mullins. He was affectionately known as Bunchie, Moon and Gary. He served in the U.S. Army for 31 years and retired in 1969, serving through World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was proficient in foreign languages and spoke German, Vietnamese, and Thai. Major Mullins was a master musician and played the harmonica. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Mullins of Irmo, S.C.; son Stephen Mullins of Columbia, S.C.; step-daughter Karin Frame Wilkinson of Orlando, FL, step-sons Rick Frame of Hudson, FL, Timothy Frame of Charleston, WVA, grandchildren, David Mullins II and wife Leah, Chris Mullins and wife Amy, Elizabeth Bessels and husband Charles; step-grandchildren, Timothy Wilkinson, Jessica Wilkinson and Brandon Frame; 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. Mullins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held 2 PM, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home, 1350 West Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park, Florida 32789.
